As you have probably noticed, the Herkimer Elementary School Newspaper Club has joined the Herkimer Jr./Sr. High School Newspaper Club online to form the Herkimer Central School Student Newspaper. So far our work has been separate individual pieces, but coming soon we will be making collaborative pieces between High School and Elementary School students. We hope this experiment in cooperation will yield more articles, a greater quality of writing, and experience for our younger members.
Thank you for your continued support,
Cassie Pontius President of High School Yearbook Club
I wanted to know about our new teacher, Mr. Fox. He is very nice and he works at Herkimer Elementary School as the Music teacher. He teaches the whole school during the course of the week. When interviewed, he said his favorite part of teaching is the moment when a student says, ”I get it”. He was a teacher before he came to our elementary school. He worked at the Herkimer High School. He has always wanted to be a teacher. For fun he likes to collect cool rocks and minerals. His favorite food is pizza. I asked him to tell me something interesting about himself and he responded that he likes to restore motorcycles and builds instruments. Three of his strengths in Music are that he has been performing all his life, he is very fluent in brass instruments, and he has been playing for 20 years. I also asked him what three important things in Music are and he said that everyone can do it , everyone can listen to Music, and Music is a great way to bring people together. He likes being a Music teacher and has been a teacher for 20 years . Welcome to H.E.S, Mr. Fox!
